God forgives and forgets
Worship for Everyone
Our latest Worship for Everyone service last Sunday brought all generations together to explore the story of the Bronze Serpent from Numbers 21 and Jesus' words in John 3, discovering the simple but powerful message that when we turn back to God, He forgives us because of Jesus. We began with a fun game that challenged everyone to keep their eyes focused on finding the cross among lots of distractions—a reminder that in life we need to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. We then enjoyed a time of worship, prayer and an inspiring talk from our guest speaker, George Downing, encouraging us to reflect on God's love and forgiveness. The service concluded outside with a meaningful symbolic response, as people wrote prayers or the word 'sorry' on paper before placing them into a supervised fire pit, reminding us that through Jesus our sins are forgiven. We finished by singing Thine Be the Glory accompanied by a brass band, before enjoying coffee, toasted marshmallows and plenty of conversation together as a church family.
Our next Worship for Everyone service will take place on Sunday 13th September, and we'd love you to join us as we continue exploring God's Word together in a fun, engaging and intergenerational way.
