A Fresh New Look for Our Car Park!

Peasedown church invests £5,000 in car park makeover

A well-used church car park in Peasedown St John has received a makeover, thanks to one local church.

St John’s Church, which is home to dozens of community groups, public gatherings, plus the popular Learning Tree Pre-School, has invested over £5,000 in resurfacing its car park – so it can better serve the local community.

Last week, a group of volunteers spent four days laying new gravel and chippings to ensure the community had a ‘fit-for-purpose’ car park.

Church leader, Revd Matthew Street, said:

“Thousands of people use the facilities and services at our church each year, as well as children’s groups, church gatherings and community events, we also host the village’s annual Remembrance Civic services each year, which attract large numbers of people to visit us.

Our church park has seen a lot of wear and tear over the last 15 years, so it was in desperate need of renovation and a refresh!

Thanks to all our volunteers who came to help last week, the new car park looks fantastic.”

The car park’s makeover also means that more vehicles can now use the facilities with new parking spaces created. Nested next to the church is the church hall which, since 2024, has been the home to the Learning Tree Day Nursery – a popular Early Years setting that receives high numbers of visitors each day.
