Celebrating the birth of a child
There are now two options for celebrating the birth of a child in the Church of England:

(i.e. Christening, Naming, Dedication, Thanksgiving or Blessing service)
You can have a contemporary service that can be called a Christening/Naming/Dedication/Thanksgiving/Blessing service. Please click here to see an example of this. The contemporary service which incorporates a less onerous set of vows can be held at a time to suit you and your family. This service can also be tailored to fit your needs and requirements. If you do choose to have this service a charge of £49 will be made (£25 to cover the Organist fees, £10 for the cost of a Verger and £14 for the Certificate (A charge set annually by Parliament).
2. Traditional Baptism service
A more formal service is a traditional Baptism service. Please click here to see an example of this. A traditional Baptism service in the St J’s Group will take place at one of our Sunday services where we can can welcome you and your baby into the family of the church.
