St. John’s Church Announces New Family Space Project

St. John’s Church is excited to share plans for a new project that will transform the old choir vestry room into a warm, welcoming family space designed especially for our growing number of young families.

As our church community continues to grow, we have been delighted to welcome more children, parents, and carers into the life of the church. With this growth comes an opportunity to create spaces that help everyone feel at home, supported, and included during worship and church activities.

The former choir vestry room, which has served many purposes over the years, will now begin a new chapter as a dedicated area where families with young children can feel comfortable and relaxed. While the new name for the room is still to be confirmed, the vision is already clear: a friendly, practical, and inviting space for families.

The room will feature comfy sofas, creating a cosy place for parents, grandparents, and carers to sit and connect. It will also include play equipment and activities for young children, helping them feel settled, engaged, and welcomed as part of our church family.

This new family space reflects St. John’s commitment to being a church for all generations. We want families to know that children are not simply accommodated—they are celebrated. By providing a dedicated room for young children and their grown-ups, we hope to make attending services easier, more enjoyable, and more accessible for many.

The project is another exciting step in the ongoing life of St. John’s Church as we continue to grow together in faith, friendship, and community.

We look forward to sharing updates as work progresses, including the unveiling of the room’s new name. Please keep this project in your prayers as we prepare to open a space where our youngest members and their families can truly feel at home.
