Sermon Series 2026

Ask the animals and they will teach you

What if your sharpest Bible teachers this year arrive on four legs, on wings, or glide through deep water?

Job throws down the challenge:

‘Ask the animals, and they will teach you’  (Job 12:7)

We may find they will teach us far more — and far more surprisingly — than we expect. The lion will show us rightful power; the lamb, redeeming love. A donkey will model humble service; a serpent will unmask temptation; a dove will whisper peace; an eagle will lift weary hearts. Even the wolf, the locust, the fish, the ox, and the horse will have something to say about God’s character, our human calling, and the spiritual truths we dare not overlook. But they will also say something vital about themselves — about the creatures that share our world, and about our responsibility to care for them with the same love the Creator has shown.

A short weekly reflection will be available from lunchtime every Sunday — a moment to pause, read, and listen. Start with the passage and the brief reflection that follows. Let it challenge, comfort, and stretch you. Write a line or two about what struck you. Then, do one thing. Choose a single next step and actually try it. Small, practical obedience opens big doors. If you read, reflect, and do, you won’t just learn about these creatures; you’ll encounter Christ through them. And as you do, your everyday life will begin to look and sound a little more like His.

You can listen to the talks and read the weekly refections here.
