Soul Youth Social Brings Fun, Food and Friendship!
Soul Youth was full of energy, laughter and competition this week as 11 young people and 5 leaders gathered together for an amazing social night packed with activities, pizza and plenty of fun.
The evening kicked off with a hilarious shoe game challenge where pairs had to try and knock over a bottle from a distance using only their shoes! The room quickly filled with cheering, laughter and friendly rivalry as everyone got involved. It was the perfect icebreaker and a brilliant way to bring everyone together right from the start.
After the game, everyone sat down together to enjoy Domino’s Pizza. Sharing food together created such a strong sense of belonging and community. Sitting, chatting and eating together gave everyone the chance to slow down, connect and simply enjoy being together.
From there, the young people split across different activity zones with something for everyone. Some battled it out on Mario Kart on the Nintendo Switch, others showed off their moves on Just Dance — with both boys and girls enthusiastically joining in — while others got creative making Dumpster Gem art. Outside, football games were in full swing with lots of energy and teamwork on display.
Throughout the night, relationships were clearly growing and deepening. Young people mixed naturally across the different activities, conversations flowed easily, and there was a real sense of friendship forming. It was also a fantastic opportunity for the leaders to spend quality time getting to know the young people better in a relaxed and fun environment.
The feedback from parents afterwards was incredibly encouraging:
“Thank you so much for last night. They had a blast!”
“Thank you, guys, for yesterday’s social evening ”
“It was brilliant, they were super happy and had the best time”
“Thank you, they are delighted. This is a very good idea, you are the best.”
“Thanks for Sunday youth social, they loved it.
Soul Youth continues to be a place where young people can belong, build friendships, have fun and grow together — and this social was a brilliant reminder of that.
