Welcome Revd Samuel Thompson

Welcome Revd Samuel Thompson who will be on placement with The St. J’s Group for four weeks

from Sunday 31st May to Friday 26th June 2026

Hello everyone, I’m Sam, and I am currently serving my curacy at Holy Trinity Frome. I am about to start my final year of curacy, and as part of my training, it is a real joy to be able to join the St J’s Group with Wellow for a month on placement. Read more here.

I grew up in Basingstoke in a Christian family before moving to the Bristol area at 18 to undertake an engineering degree apprenticeship while working for Airbus. During this time, I settled in Portishead and worshipped at Christchurch Clevedon before discerning a call to ordination during the pandemic. I then trained for ordination at Ridley Hall in Cambridge, before being ordained in 2024 and moving to Frome.

Outside of church life, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, walking, gardening, and learning the piano!
