You’re Invited: Marriage Preparation Day

We warmly invite you to a day designed to help you prepare for marriage with confidence and honesty. This day offers you the opportunity to step back from wedding plans and focus on what really matters: building strong foundations for your life together.

What Will the Day Look Like?

Across the sessions, we explore practical areas that every couple will encounter in married life.

For example:

• different ways to handle conflict when it inevitably arises

• how our different family backgrounds shape our expectations (and why our “normal” isn’t always the same as someone else’s)

• How to understand what makes each other feel most loved and valued

•  What priorities matter most to each of you in marriage

• The meaning of the church wedding service itself

• and some practical guidance to help you plan your own day

How Does It Work?

Throughout the day, you will have time to talk privately together as a couple about the topics raised. These conversations are just between the two of you; nothing has to be shared with the group.

Our team guides the day and provides helpful input, tools and prompts, but the focus is on giving you space to reflect together. There is no pressure to speak publicly or share anything beyond what you are comfortable discussing with each other.

This is a great opportunity to pause amid life's busyness and invest intentionally in your future marriage.

The Marriage Preparation day starts from 9 am to 3 pm and costs £40 per couple, with a meal provided. The day is being put on by the Midsomer Norton Deanery of Churches with Rev Matthew Street (Area Dean).
