Banns of Marriage Fees 2025 (for those who are getting married elsewhere but need to have your banns read as you live in one of our parishes)

Fees

• Publishing the Banns of Marriage - £37

• Certificate - £17

• Total: £54

There is a fee that is charged in each parish in which you have your banns read out. If your wedding is taking place outside of the St J's Group then you will need to pay us for us to read your banns (this includes the issuing of your certificate to present to the Minister officiating at your Wedding ceremony). Once we receive the form, we will be in touch to confirm the dates and send you an invoice to pay 10 days before we read the Banns.

Fees are as laid out in the Table of Parochial Fees 1 January 2025 displayed in the church porch and on the website here.

* These fees generally go up each year and are set nationally and not by the parish church.  The ‘Church Fee’ is discretionary and can be deducted from the total; this fee goes toward the upkeep of the church building.

Crematorium

If the Vicar is required to attend the Crematorium, travel expenses will need to be added to the above total. The Diocese of Bath and Wells suggest a rate of 52p per mile. Travel expenses will take effect from Church Road, Peasedown St John (BA2 8AA).
