Here I am to worship... wherever that may be

Lift up your head, fling wide the gates
Break down the walls, with a shout of praise
Lift up your voice, pull heaven down
Oh, sing like thunder, make His praises loud

These lyrics are taken from a song ‘Praise is the highway’ by Bethel Music.

I don’t know about you but I’ve found this time of lockdown really frustrating. One of things I love doing has been chained up and boxed in - corporate worship. I love it when we can come together as a church community and pour out our praises, our delights, our frustrations, our anxieties and our cry for help. Now we are back in church, the way that we have been worshipping is taking a little of getting used to. At least I’ve been able to sing but I’m not sure how the rest of you must be feeling.

Even though we can’t have sung corporate worship in church, it doesn’t mean we should stop doing it all together. I often get this picture of us as a church, all worshipping together but in our own homes - dotted around Peasedown and the surrounding area, forming a network of worshippers. Singing different songs to God. Lifting up our songs to Him. Each of us surrounded by angels, joining along with us. The whole of the area is being covered in worship, not just one building. What a powerful thing this would be. Walls would be broken. Hearts would be healed. Lives restored. We need to remember that the Enemy will do everything he can to stop us worshipping because he knows what a powerful weapon it really is. So keep on worshipping, wherever and whenever you can.

The rocks will cry out, the oceans will roar
The mountains will bow, to the name of the Lord
He is our God, He will be praised

The idols will fall, the strongholds will break
Every weapon that forms, will shatter and fail
He is our God, He is our faith

Praise is the highway, to the throne of God
Praise is the highway, to the heart of God
Praise is the highway, to the move of God
Come on, revival will come

Revival will come, the Church will awake
His anthem will drown, all other refrains
He is our song, and He forever reigns
He reigns!
