Peace & quiet in the garden
Colin & Jill Tremellen
We were delighted to welcome visitors to St Julian’s Well for five Quiet Garden days this year. As usual the garden was open for the first Thursday in the month from Easter to September for times of reflection and quiet. We welcomed people of all faiths or no faith.
The day begins at 10.30 when we are led into silence by a different speaker who this year chose their own theme eg God in Creation. We stop for lunch at 12.30 when there is plenty of chat over a picnic, and resume silence from 1.30 - 3.00.
Last year the weather was kind to us. We never know who is going to arrive on our doorstep sometimes walking, sometimes by bicycle or by car. It is a really rewarding day.
This year the Annual meeting of Quiet Gardeners will be at Merseyside, we hope to get there to exchange ideas with other people - there are over 200 Quiet Gardens in the UK - and to hear the keynote speaker who is always inspiring.
