Minutes of the vestry meeting

St Julian’s Church, Sunday 25th March 2018 during the 10am Service

  1. Appointment of Clerk to both Vestry Meeting and the following Annual Parochial Church Meeting. Lynne Williams was appointed as Clerk.

  2. Minutes of last year’s meeting held on the 2nd April 2017. These minutes were approved and signed by The Rev. Tom Benyon.

  3. Election of Church Wardens for 2018/19. Tom Benyon thanked Colin Tremellen for his fourth year of office and Pam Pike for her first year of office. Both agreed to stand for a further year. Colin Tremellen’s appointment was proposed by Pam Pike, seconded by Stewart Cole and unanimously agreed by the meeting. Pam Pike’s appointment was proposed by Julia Wyld, seconded by Joyce Mannings and unanimously agreed by the meeting. Tom Benyon thanked both Colin and Pam on behalf of the Church for all their hard work done with great kindness, humour and devotion.

  4. Date of the next Vestry Meeting.
    This will take place on Sunday, the 7th April. 2019 (the 5th Sunday of Lent).
    (Note: Due to heavy snow on the 18.3.18. this meeting was postponed until 25.3.18.)


Minutes of the Annual Parochial Church meeting

St Julian’s Church, Sunday 25th March 2018 during the 10am Service

  1. Members of the Parochial Church Council present: Colin Tremellen, Jill Tremellen, Tim Wheeler, Stewart Cole, Lyn Doman, Pam Pike, Jane Rees and Mary Wilkins (co-opted member).

  2. Minutes of last year’s meeting These minutes were agreed and signed by Tom Benyon.

  3. Financial Report and Approval of Accounts, including any questions. The accounts had been approved by the PCC at their meeting on 15.2.18. for presentation to this meeting. As there were no questions on the accounts, it was proposed by Stewart Cole, seconded by Jill Tremellen and agreed unanimously that the Financial Report and Accounts be approved. There were no questions about other reports. Tom Benyon thanked those who had contributed to the reports.

  4. Elections to the PCC
    Election of one representative to the PCC serving until 2021. The formal nomination form having been properly served (proposed by Jane Rees and seconded by Jenny Matthews). Mary Wilkins was duly elected to the PCC for three years.

  5. Deanery Synod
    Julia Wyld has served Wellow over the last year as the Deanery Synod representative. Wellow can send a second representative to serve on the Deanery Synod. However, as no-one had come forward, this second place will remain vacant for a further year.

  6. Date of next APCM
    This will take place on Sunday, 7th April 2019 (the 5th Sunday of Lent).
