Movement Worship Nights

Movement continues to grow

Revd. Rich Miles
Director of Movement

For those of you who don’t yet know what Movement is all about then please let me take a moment to share with you.

Across the South West and beyond there are hundreds of churches with small handfuls of young people scattered between them.

Our vision is to establish regular gatherings, bringing these groups of young people together to meet with God in a dynamic environment with high energy contemporary worship accompanied by quality Christian teaching that is practical, relevant and useful.

Our heart is to engage, equip and empower youth & young adults to be all that God has called them to be. Releasing this generation to build the kingdom in their own Churches & communities.

Movement worship at Wells Cathedral

After another fantastic year in 2017/18 we have continued to develop Movement Worship Nights here at St Johns, St Mary’s, Wedmore, St Pauls, Chippenham and at a new location Christ Church, Clevedon. We have seen young people attend from all over Somerset & North Wiltshire. In December 2018 Dr John Davies, Dean of Wells Cathedral invited us to hold a worship night in the Cathedral which was attended by 500 people.

As Movement has continued to grow there has been a need to look at expanding our team to help with the pressure of the day to day running of things. So I’m excited to share with you that we have created a new Central Team for Movement made up of Helena Midgley (Media), Matt Orr (Prayer & Resources), Rhiannon Howe (Worship) & Simon Nothard (Operations) who are all giving up a day a week as a part of our New discipleship year program or as a volunteer. I am also thankful for all our other talented volunteers that God has brought together to make each Movement gathering happen and to St John’s for its continuing support.

As we move in to 2019 I am excited to see where God wants Movement to go next.
